 Installing hydro turf?
Thinking of putting hydro turf down in my boat. Was thinking of using silicone as an adhesive to put it down so it could be removed, if needed, down the road. Has anyone done this? Concerned with the peel and stick being too permanent. Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't be worried about it being too permanent it costs too much and once you have it in there the only reason you'll want to take it out is maybe to replace it if ever it tears up which it's pretty tough too.

Silicone?? That crap is nothing but a pain in the ass to work with. I have not put Hydro Turf in mine yet because I do not want to deal with replacing it every few years when it gets trashed up. It seems to me that once you commit to it, you replace it when it gets bad until you completely strip and repaint.

I wouldn't use silicone because if you ever remove it it will leave a mess. You will have a hard time getting anything else to stick back where you had the silicone, especially paint.

 Re: Installing hydro turf?
Last boat at five years the hydro turf started showing some wear but wasn't anywhere near needing replacement . Two years on the new boat and still looks brand new. Wouldn't have a boat without it.

 Re: Installing hydro turf?
I have the 3M backing on mine. I removed and replaced the sheet on my back deck in a couple of hours. It's not a big deal.
