Wanted to say thank you to Pete and his crew over at WC custom boats. Top notch work on my new rig.

Pete is great to work with. You get a lot for your money at WC. Very fair on the changes and upgrades. Very glad I went with Pete on this build.

The boat is a 19 x 52, 3/16, 3x chine, 24" sides. Will post pictures once it's painted.

Thank you Pete !!

Pete's been great. I've changed the design about 4 times. Finally got it just the way I wanted it. I was going with 21" sides then went with 24" so I could do some back country fishing in the keys.

Added side rails and a gas tank. Also went with a 36" wide front pipe.

Great pricing and excellent service.

That's going to be one tuff ass boat. 3/16" bottom and 9 stringers it will be a tank for sure. He builds a good boat.

Fishing Suzuki 4 stroke. Hunting Sport V or H. Got a contract on the New V but may jump over to the H. Not sure.

You should be able to run the meanest stump fields with that rig. 9 stringers and 3/16 material she's a beast for sure. Nice rig very nice.

Why do the transverse braces not go all the way across and tie into sides?

Cross bracing shown is temporary. We are going side to side on the bracing. Then 0.100 welded top deck. Waiting on additional pictures from Pete.

I think he cross braced it temporarily to dry fit/Shape the boat ?? Not sure.

Update on my build. Almost done !!! missing side plates on the top deck, rails and some grinding. Pete's going to run it this week. Changed my 35 sport V to the new 37 EFI sport V.

Rudy, are you going to paint the diamond plate?

Author:  rudyeng [ Wed Mar 25, 2015 4:56 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Wc Custom boat Build

WC is painting the entire boat. Once in Miami I'm going to steel flex the bottom and camo the rest.

Post subject:  Re: Wc Custom boat Build

Gotcha. Was just thinking that the paint is going to wear off the diamond tread quickly.

Tommy
Paint grabs really well on the diamond plate. I think Pete acid washes then paints. Not sure

Frog
The steel flex guy spoke highly of you last year. I'm going to see him in the next couple of weeks. Very nice guy. I forgot his name.

Post subject:  Re: Wc Custom boat Build

Acid wash just before paint. Pete's painting it tomorrow.

Boat test run # 1. Brand new 37 EFI GTR with 10 pitch 3 blade

3 gallons of gas and battery in rear with One person.

At 3970 RPM Ran 25.7 into a 10-15 mph wind with heavy chop

26.9 going across the wind. Not bad for a 3/16 -19x52 super heavy 3x chine.

Post subject:  Re: Wc Custom boat Build

Pete acid washed it then sprayed a green primer. The final coat is GT brown. looks like the original military OD.
