 Camo paint plans.....
So, I've got the new boat coming (Gator Trax Gen 2 on 18x54 Hybrid). I plan on painting it myself. Well, me and Abby. She's 17 (holy crap) and loves this type of art work. She's already agreed to help me paint it. Definitely a bonding thing.
I've painted a few boats before, and this was my last Gator Trax. I was pretty happy with the way it turned out and will probably be pretty similar. I like the depth the bigger tree limbs in the background give it to break it up. Was also thinking of varying the grass color a little more. Any other suggestions, tips? Please feel free to share what you've done and why it works for you.

 Re: Camo paint plans.....
Your old boat turned out great.
I added some green and tan highlights on the grass on my MOSG. You may also try some different shades of khaki/grass to enhance that layer. I put a light coat of 3M general purpose adhesive on my top layer grass stencil to help make it crisp.
I found using hand clamps on the gunnel to hold the stencil and holding a bent hanger against the stencil when spraying sped up doing the vertical portions a lot.

 Re: Camo paint plans.....
deadbird8, I was thinking of going darker overall. What specific shade of brown is that base coat? It looks kinda orange. Does it work well for you in the north Texas area?
Thanks for the reply, when I get my boat, we'll have to go hit the lake.

 Re: Camo paint plans.....
The coffee color is "Fall Brown" from Styx River. It was a Krylon color that they discontinued (WTF?) and I have only seen it from SR. Not orange at all, its a great color for fall, no matter where you hunt, one of the best flat camo colors around.
Colors I used on my boats:
