If I was to run duals .. It would be a 2072 .. You have the power to push a big boat

There's a vid of a 2472 GD with dual 35 tiller GDSD's floating around the tube with something like 11 people in it and it's still rolling pretty good in 100% mud.

I just ordered the same size hull with a single engine  you tote elephants much?

I was thinking of putting my stage 2 GTR on the 18/60 but I'm still not sure yet. It's an older motor , still in great working shape but I'd like to have to have the newer reverse. three guys that ride with me to the blind are all over 250lbs plus all the gear ! If I do go duals I plan on staying stock except the mufflers. My boat now is going 28 with the same load in deep water but it's an 18/56 . Any one have an 18/60 triple tapered chine ? If so how does it handle ?

Lilcajun just posted up on his new rig. 1860 prodrive with twin 37 efi pd motors. Looks to be one bad ass rig! I don't think you'll be under powered.

You don't think the stage 2 would be under powered ? A nice dual rug does look bad ass.

Why the hell would you get an 18' boat if you have duals?

My stage 2 pushes my 18/56 very well . But I dunno how well a stage 2 by itself pushes a 18/60. I wanna go duals just cause I can lol !!!!! Because anything above 18 is larger then I want.

I have that setup. Stock 35 pushes it 25.

I'm running a stage 2 gtr on an 18/60 3/16 bottom 1/8" sides 24" tall sides. I held the front out wide and deck is 6' long. I'm running 28-30 with a heavy bow fishing load. I had duals on a 20/72 but wouldn't want them on an 18/60 but that just my opinion.

U should be fine wit single stage two on 1860. Few guys on here run similar setups an get good speeds. But like u said u want duals cuz u can fuk it slap em on there I'm sure you will be happy either way

My good friend had an 18x60 with dual prodrives, CC.
It would haul (4) 300 pounders, and (2) 250 pounders, plus a 250 lbs bowfishing rack, 150 quart ice chest full of fish and ice, and another ice chest with beer and ice.
2 batteries, and 23 gallon gas tank, and it would run every bit of 29 mph. stock engines. Not a single performance part on the engines, in deep water.

When we took it out for the first time, 2 people, empty boatm i wasnt impressed because it topped out at 32 mph stock.

But we loaded the fucker down, and it would flat out roll out!

I dont think a stage 2 motor can keep up with duals, toting a load, but a single engine is less maint.

Its all in what you want. If you get dual motors cause "you can" then i dont think Maint on 2 motors is anything but pocket change!

Hold up now I'm not saying I'm rich !!! Just my feeling life is too short so enjoy it while you can rather then say I'll get this and that once I retire. I might never make it there. Plus since I'm able to do it now I'd like to while I can. Got a 17 month old and one due March 2nd . Will be be all about the kids from here on out. Which it should be. But the ole lady gave my the all clear so I'm going for it lol ! My main reason for duals is the ability to haul heavier loads and maintain speed. It's not so I can show off what I got , to be the baddest , or to stand out.I mean look at my current ride it's nothing to look at if anything it's ugly as sh*t, but I still enjoy the boat. It's nice to have the hp when I'll need it.

I wear 20$ Calcutta sunglasses. Don't see a reason to pay so much for sunglasses, plus I don't care for white sunglasses. 18ft x 4' adds up. 245hours for a surface drive is nothing. Especially for a 2006 motor. I mainly want a new motor for the reverse. I almost did get a longtail for my first rig but the distance I drive to my blind would of took me forever. How does a triple tapered chine handle in the mud ?

Post subject:  Re: Anyone own an 18/60 with duals ???

I think you missed the point of my post lol.

As far as handling in the mud. I wouldn't expect any of them to handle very well. It's just physics. You're sliding on a flat slick surface driving something with a flat slick bottom. The boat can't roll and bite in a turn. It's going to stay flat no matter what kind of chine it has. Deep water, it will turn pretty well but don't expect it to handle in the mud any different than anything else. Only thing that may be slightly better is a sharp, square chine, the edge of it may have some bite in the mud but I wouldn't expect miracles.

Here is my real thoughts. if you want it do it. When I built my dual rig I got nothing but negative responses but it was what I wanted and it out performed anything I could of asked for. Duals an 18/60 would be a beast. Heck I might just stick another one in mine. Its your money your plan so do it don't worry about what other people think.

Would be interesting having duals on an 18" boat. I can deal with sliding on the mud that's part of it. Long as the boat handles well in deeper water I will be happy. Willie how do you like duals vs single motor ? Pros cons ?

Didn't you not wanna spend money on a trim unit a month ago and now you buying a dual rig?

Iv had 3 days off the last three weeks. Worked a lot of OT. Medical bills are covered. Just didn't wanna buy the trim till I for sure had all outer ducks in a row. Plus having good insurance helps. I'm bout to Order and install the trim for my boat. Will be installed before it's sold. I'm going to go ahead and still install the new trim.

I just don't think that an 18x60 is enough boat to take advantage of duals. Get a 20' boat.

I love my 18/60 dual prodrive y'all can say what u want but it runs great!! The 20/60 was just a little to big for what I wanted. I'm definitely glad I went with the 18/60 couldn't be more satisfied with it..

I'd rather a longer narrower boat over a shorter wider boat. That's me though. I have a buddy with a 19x48 and it doesn't seem too long to me.

A few people including my cuz nasty and BoatDR said an 18/60 is still to narrow for duals. In a perfect world I'd have duals on an 18/60. But I want it to sit well in the water at the stern.

Lol I hear us. Just hate to get my rig and run it for the first time and look back and say damn that sits low. Especially after dropping a lot of money for a rig that looks good but can't handle rough water !
