This for the guys that have dual rigs. Also if you don't mind list your boat info . Im just wanting your feedback on your rigs ( pros, cons ect ) . I'm getting a 19/72 ( finally decided to go 19' instead of 18' ), triple tapered chine, pointed bow. My rig will mainly be designed for fishing, but will still be plenty capable of getting me to my lease and blind. Any input would be helpful. Thanks guys.

I got a 2072 uncle j with dual mudbuddys. I use it as my everthing boat. Motors are stock with around 300 hrs. Square chine with 3/16 bottom. Just make sure u got a good winch if you ever get stuck.

I'm putting a 4500lb super wing in the bow. What kind of speeds you getting ? How's the boat do in mud ? How do you like the steering in the front ? The steering was originally towards the front off my boat but I could not stand it and moved it more center in the boat.

It runs 28ish. Haven't checked since I first got it. It will haul just about anything though. I like the steering up front because I run a hard blind for ducks and I can see real good when driving. Have had any problems with mud but a lot of our stuff is hard bottom not like the soup you southern guys have. Also batteries and dual 18 gallon gas tanks in the back to offset the weight of steering in the front

Ok I'll have my steering in the middle with the gas tanks infront .with one battery up front and and one in the bottom of the console. Did u go hydraulic steering ?

Post subject:  Re: Dual rig owners !!!

Yes I'd think hydraulic is a must with duals. It can pull hard even with it.

I have a 20/60 square with dual prodrives. Ran like 30.3 light and 29.99 with 7 people

Square ran around 28-32 stage one. Got to understand this boat was super heavy empty but carried a load well and stayed around the same speeds. Regret getting rid of it

Curcio13085 I think I saw your boat in a video ? Nice rig ! Missile yea you had a heavy boat but it was a sweet set up ! I wouldn't of sold that thing endless I had too ! I'm in a situation I'm selling my rig for my next rig but I might have to put the money towards medical bills for my son being in the N.I.C.U. But soon as bills are paid off I'm getting a custom rig built. Thanks for yalls input. Iv never heard of anyone with a triple tapered chine dual rig yet so it will be interesting !

What's yalls thoughts on a 19/72 with duals. Keep in mind this boat will be used in big open water also.

Just go 20'. No need in cutting a foot off of the sheet.

Mines 20' and it's got plenty of room and doesn't seem too big. Hell if I was getting duals I would go 22'.

It's been laid out in this thread several times. Don't know what other info you're trying to find.

I hope whatever you end up with works out for you.

Sounds like you need to just hang on to what you have and buy a bay boat

Iv seen nothing about a 19/72 with duals on this site. I want a boat I can go where bay boats can and can't go. I wanna be able to fish deep water then if I decide to go fish hard to reach shallows with out having to swap boats I can. I'm not hunting out of this boat do there's no issue with width for hunting. Just gotta be able to get to the boat hide and that's it. Like I said what I'm wondering and maybe some boat builders could answer this is how will a boat this size with duals perform in nasty mud ?

Shouldn't hurt anything going 72 wide. The bigger the better! I would go at least 24" sides. Is it going have the hybrid rake? That would help a lot in the rough water.

Post subject:  Re: Dual rig owners !!!

Yep 24" sides and will have a hybrid rake. Step deck transom as well.both 18 gal gas tanks in front to help distribute weight a lil. Will also have a 4,500 lb super winch built into the bow

Post subject:  Re: Dual rig owners !!!

Look no boat ! I don't want 20' boat . What's wrong with thinking outside the box ? I just want something different. Nothing you just stated was persuasive or inciteful ! Evidently I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel look at post 5 ! I'm not stuck on a 72" just want something wider then a 60" that I can use to fish rougher water and still be able to fish the hard to reach spots in my area. My point was I wanted people's opinions of what boat width would be good in big open water !

Post subject:  Re: Dual rig owners !!!

I would say the wider that better in deep water!!

That's what I'm thinking but then again I want the boat to perform well in the mud.

Post subject:  Re: Dual rig owners !!!

I can admit when I'm wrong and I know I'll hear I told you so ! But I decided to go a 20/72 after seeing missiles boat sit in the water with duals and a lil helpful advice from willet and other I decided to do 20'. Like I said plenty times before this will be a big ass boat but it's made to fish big open water yet still get me to the flats . Will it be able to hold its on in zero water mud ? I have no clue ! But will be able to get me to places regular bay boats won't go. I allready have a smaller boat with an out board and didn't want to have a third boat in my yard. So I decided to rid of the duck boat and get a boat made I can get to the flats but yet still fish open water on windy conditions comfortably. I know this isn't the boat most people would choose to have built but it's what will fit what I'm needed out of a mud boat. Thanks for some solid advice from some you guys appreciate it !

Post subject:  Re: Dual rig owners !!!

You would do the same thing if you were about to spend upwards of $40k on a rig. Most people wouldn't dare spend that on a rig ( not saying yall can't, just saying most of yall wouldn't ) . Just something I really want , but I wanna get it right . You got but hurt worse then I did. I was only screwing with you as well . Don't have to go write a damn essay LoL !

Don't hate because I don't type with two fingers kneegrow....

I do believe I'll have to search the depths of the interweb to find a butt-hurt-o-meter. Seems like there may be a use for one around here

And negative, I'm not dropping $40K on a mud boat. Aint happenin.
