Post Making an aerator a wash down.
I replaced the console in my boat that had livewell with one that doesn't so now I have an aerator that can't be used. My thought was I might could re-plumb it and add a hose bib to convert it to a raw water wash down. Do they produce enough pressure and flow? It takes about 5 mins to fill the 16 gal livewell (just guessing I've never timed it) so 3-5 gpm and most wash downs have less flow. Could it work?

It won't be great, not enough pressure. But, you can use the same thru-hull, add a jabsco wash down pump, plumb it out and be golden.

You could do above with a real wash down pump which has higher pressure with lower GPH. You could pick up a larger bait well pump, like a 1100 GPH or 750 GPH, they do not create the pressure of a wash down pump but would give a decent amount of flow if the hose was not too long

If I can't do it with the pump I have I'll just get the real deal. I thought maybe I might could make due for awhile with what I have, but I guess I'll get a wash down pump.
