 Go Devil Floors
Okay guys... I'm finally down to three weeks out from getting my 1844 35hp gdsd and I have no idea what the factory floor in one looks like.
What does the floor look like in those things? I'm a school teacher, so I plan on spending a whole lot of time fishing out of it during the summer. I am wondering if I need to go ahead and order hydroturf, sears turf or something else and get it on as soon as I get the boat. I read the turf thread already, so that issue can be discussed there - my main question is do I even need to cover up what is already there.
My five year old will be with me most days just playing in the floor of the boat (after loosing interest in fishing for 10 minutes...haha), so I want it to keep from getting hot.

Go with hydoturf.... I have an 18x44 with black diamond hydro turf! Very easy to clean, not hot, can walk around bare footed on it

 Re: Go Devil Floors
Hydroturf the floors. You won't regret it. You can walk barefoot all summer long on hydroturf

 Re: Go Devil Floors
I've already decided on hydroturf if I need it....
What I want to know is what is on there from the factory and does it get hot?

 Re: Go Devil Floors
It's a thick textured paint that's laid down. I touched a boat in the parking lot at Heritage Marine last week. 70deg outside, and in direct sun it was already very warm. Not near hot enough to burn you but imagine it on a 90+ degree day with the July sun frying it.... I ordered the Hydroturf for mine in grey molded diamond. It will be here before the boat is here and in before the boat goes in the water.
The turf seems to be as cheap or expensive as you make it. I'll probably have mine all done for about $300-$350 while I've heard of some spending $7-900 on turf....
