Well we had a long day yesterday... Rolled out of here yesterday morning at 0430 headed East. Made good time and pulled into the GoDevil shop at 0845. We shot the BS, drank coffee with Coco, did paperwork, looked at some mounts and told stories. Had a good time. He gave us the grand tour of the place and told us the story of basically every square inch, and every piece of machinery under the roof. Walked us through where raw material is brought in and every detailed step in the process of making one of his motors, through the inventory storage area where there are at least 100 different engines wrapped and ready to ship. Went through the boat rigging and make-ready area and forced me to spend more money lol. Super good folks, down to earth, personable and laid back. Over all, he spent about 2 hours with my brother and I just BS'ing and showing us the place. His dual surface drive boat was there too, got to check that beast out. Left there with my new machine in tow. Rode over toward Cabelas and figured out we were gonna have to stop and get lunch sooner than later lol. So, against the advise of several, we stopped at Don's. I had Shrimp Étouffée and my brother got grilled oysters. I've never been much on oysters and I'm glad I skipped them. We went over to Cabelas, I picked up a couple things I needed to rig my trolling motor and a LIVETARGET crank bait that I've had my eye on. We headed back. Got just West of Lafayette and my brother told me to pull it over, looks like he got food poisoning... Yay. Blew chunks 3 times on the side of I10 before we could get home. Talked to him this morning and all is well. Had to have been what he ate. Mine was actually pretty good ![]() Anyway, there's my big adventure. The pics were already posted so nothing new there. Looks just like any other 1860GD boat and surface drive.... I'll be running it this afternoon so I'll have a little more info on a what the EFI is like. As far as I know, I'm the first one in Texas with an EFI GDSD. I'll be sure to report back. Wanna say thanks publicly to Warren Coco and his staff for all the hospitality and Bart Baker of TexasBackwater.com for all of his work and help getting my boat built and all the minute details that were handled so well. I'll definitely recommend him in the future. Great people to work with. |

I'm going to mount the bimini top and take my wife and daughter on a cruise today. I'll post up some speeds. Probably only run deep water. Everything's flooded right now. Probably run it later this afternoon. |

Congrats on the new rig! Hope you get plenty of use out of it and enjoy the heck out if it! Now you believe us on Don's? I didn't know what Swampnuts was thinking when he said go eat there! Musta been something to do with not buying a GTR! [FLUSHED FACE] Most liberals seem to suffer from the same mental condition....it's called stupidity! |

Lesson = Learned about Don's. I called over there this morning and told the manager to go double check the dates on his food. It's not a huge deal and nobody got hurt but if someone with less of an iron gut than him would have gotten ahold of the wrong shit it could have been real bad. Even still he spent half the day doubled over and throwing up, slept it off and was frying eggs, bacon and drinking coffee when I called him this morning ![]() |

Warren Coco is a super nice guy. Called me when I had questions about my fishing edition 2005 18/56 single tapered chine flat bow Go-Devil hull. Warren was ecstatic to see that model boat with a surface drive on it. Asked how it handles and ran. Then we shot the shit about his lease just south of where I live in carlyss . I gotta say if I would buy from warren if I was looking for another basic hull. Great guy !! |

He's had them at literally dozens of different places and he's fixed his own at home and never had a problem...... Just saying |
