Battle scares ....no other way to say it...
but most call them hooks that are the acquired dents in the bottom of a hull that "catch" water as you run...
sometimes they actually help out, but not in my case...
my hooks are located in the start of my rake...
I have these small hydrologic rams at my disposal I can use to pop them out, no big deal...
but hasn't the aluminum stretched already, there fore they should easily pop back in place when pressure is reapplied to the spots on the rake due to that is what the aluminium wants to do now that it has stretched...
could I heat up the surface after I popped out the hooks an cool it off or rework the aluminum some how to draw the stretched surface back in where he hooks won't reappear as easily?
Am I over thinking this?

You're overthinking it....

Get a chunk of 4x4 and a hammer and knock them out. It's stretched already. Nothing you can really do to fix that.

It will hook again in the same place a lot of times but you'll get your performance back.

Why not pound it out and add another brace.

What about a putty fill in the pocket and quick slick/gator glide the bottom?

To me a few dents/dings are inevitable on the bottom of a MM rig I would think right??

At what point do these start affecting performance?

Didn't think it would have such a drastic effect like your saying!

To me if your not running shallow enough to cause a few bumps and bruises to the hull you may as well just run an outboard!

Just did mine. My Trailer was built for my boat. I use to have a angled transom and the bottom of the hull stopped right before the end of the boards. Did this to help with reverse on my PD.

It ran like shit and would bounce my ass to death. Decided to cut it out and box it in like normal. Figured the PD reverse lifts the ass end up anyway so I may not need it. Which I noticed I really didn't and didn't see any change.

As you can see, now that I boxed it in, my hull hangs off the back of the trailer. Well running down these sorry ass roads we have in Louisiana, I developed a small hook on the ass end, right where the hull hangs over. I only noticed this when I was playing around with props and was adjusting my trim tab.

So I decided to cut the hitch off and move it forward 3" in order to pull the boat up further on the transom. Once I did this, I too a bottle jack, jacked up 1 side and placed a 2x8 underneath it. Then I jacked up the other side and shoved another 2x8 underneath it but cross ways so that the 2x8 ran across all 4 trailer boards where the hook was. Now to make sure I was going to beat it out level, I jacked up the fron end, and placed another 2x8 under the front right before the rake starts. This insured that the hull was level on the trailer.

Now when I looked under the hull between the 2x8 and my bottom, I could see approx. 1/8" of daylight. I took a rubber hammer, and started beating. The 2x8 will hold backup and not allow the hook to go pass level, so beat the shit out of it. I did this all the way downand removed the hook. The boat now doesn't run as flat and now when I trim it flat rolls out. I prob picked up 1 - 1.5 mph due to the drag. Very easy to do, just takes a little time.

Here is mine running with the hooks out and running a worn out 11-3/4" prop.

I've got one on the bottom of the huntdeck near the back what would be the best way to get it out?

The only way with gator trax would be to cut out the top plate and pound it out from inside then weld your plate back on. I have the same problem and hunt only stumps. They will come back if you don't change the conditions you run your boat in, so not worth it in my opinion. I knocked out all the other dents in my boat today, but I'm leaving those alone. They aren't that bad Nd my boat still performs well enough

Also you are going to need your force going straight down when you hit it, not much headroom in there

Yeah mine doesn't have any foam. I guess my main concern would be if I cut that opening would it weaken anything to do with the false transom and transom
