Hooked up some supernight leds, 16' down each of my gunnel (RGB ones bc i had to be a color whore) i have them wired into my 12v battery that powers my engine (75 evinrude) and my switch panel via buss bars. I was at idle and they were working perfectly fine no issues at all, start to take off the stern side starts flickering and BAM about half the light strip goes out for good. slowed down nothing happened so just turned them off for the rest of the night. Got home, turned my lights back on and surprise they all work again. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Im thinking maybe too many amps are being drawn on a 12v system because the control box they came with says it pulls 2amps per channel and i could be maxing them out. I know they sell amplifiers but just though id check before ordering one. also all my connections are soldered and were checked for proper working condition before all this. Thanks for any info ![]() |

Probably a loose wire on the strip it's self. I've seen where they had cold solder joints. |

I still believe supernight matches their quality to their price, but I may have found a solution to my problem. As you can see the original "3m" adhesive that comes on the lights has caused bare spots to ground out to wherever they are mounted. I ran new 3m tape (the red roll) and stuck the lights to that to help insulate the bare spots. So far after a day of fishing, the lights work as they are suppose to. |
