Re: New boat, TWINS!
Tomorrow evening I will go top off both tanks and let you know exactly how many gallons I burned.

How does that stealth 10 sound when running two motors?

Re: New boat, TWINS!
Thanks for the update on fuel. That's still 14mpg per motor, or 7 mpg total, roughly. Sounds more reasonable, though still a tad better than I expected. Good to know. Nice rig, for sure.

Re: New boat, TWINS!
Hi VoidbioV
I received my twin engine boat, it is a 20x72 and I am having problems with fuel consumption of my dual GTR37 EFI motors. I ran 1.5 hours at full throttle and 1 hour slow and I ran out of fuel. The tank takes 21 gallons.
Do you have an idea of how many gallons you are burning per hour at wide open throttle?
Thank You for the help

Re: New boat, TWINS!
Definitely should not burn 21 gallons in an hour and half. I can run probably 40ish miles or a whole day non stop on only 6 gallons. Your leaking fuel somewhere.

Re: New boat, TWINS!
I have a 18x60 hull with 1 GTR 37. I can get a full day out of running wide open. At our last ride we ran over 50 miles and I buned just over 7.5 gallons of fuel. There's no way you went through 21 gallons in less than 3 hours of run time unless your pumping fuel out the top of the motor which is probably very unlikely because it would have be very noticeable.
I don't know how true this is but I was told that, on a stock carb motor, 5 gallons is burned for every 2.5 hours the engine is ran at WTFO. So that said in theory if you ran for 2.5 hours at full speed you'll burn 5 gallons. Now with efi supposed to be a little more efficient I would be expecting more especially out of a dual.

Re: New boat, TWINS!
Yes, I am supposed to have hydraulics but my controls are not the Mercury ones that Hernaja1 has. It is hard to turn at slow speeds. They say if I take the black cap off, there is a srew that I can adjust the tension fpr the controls to hold position, I will try this and if not good I will buy the Mercury controls. Any idea where I can get them and a model number? My biggest peoblem is the fuel though. I bought the boat specifically to make a one hour run to one pf the hunting grounds I like to go, spend a few hours there going slow from one place to another and then make the hour run back to ghe camp. First time I used the boat, a few weeks ago I ran out of gas half way on my way back. I was lucky I ran out of gas in one of the only few places that had cellular coverage and I could have someone bring gas, I made it back to the camp at around 10:00pm. I am veey very obset (to say the least) whith this whole situation. The boat as it is, does not work for me, it won't do what I bought it for and The manufacturer knew perfectly what my intentioms were with the boat, ke knew how long I need to run, etc.

Re: New boat, TWINS!
Something is definitely wrong. No way it should burn that much petro, at that rate get an dang airboat. I can run for days on a tank with one single 37 efi. I have a work trailer that has twin 23 Koehler carb motors. Has a 15 gallon stationary tank. Can literally run 15-20 hours wide open. With both motors running on same tank. Granted that's not twin 37's you get the idea.

Re: New boat, TWINS!
Have you contacted who you bought it from and told them about the excessive fuel consumption problem? There is definitely something wrong with that.
