 Custom rod holders
I built some custom rod holders in my 1854 cc gator tail. Didn't have much room inside the boat being that I have 8" catwalks. Just wanted to give an idea of how I did it if anyone is trying to do the same. I used 1 1/4 pvc pipe and slip rod holders over.

Niiiice man.. Just be mindful of overhanging branches. It's real easy to Forget about stuff that you can't see in front of you.. I mounted four fly rod holders in the back of my outboard rig and a buddy drove the boat under a tree and snapped $2500 worth the fly rods

 Re: Custom rod holders
Another thing you could do is buy the rod saver straps. Your cat walks are plenty wide enough you can put them on both sides and strap your rods to them. Leaving them up in the air will give you bad line twist if you aren't careful and you'll start going through line like crazy. Plus since it's flat they won't bounce around in waves and you don't have to worry about branches.

 Re: Custom rod holders
PVC is great stuff, I made a pair of rod holders too. I use primarily when trolling.

 Re: Custom rod holders
I tried the rod straps under the catwalk first but no real good way to secure them without screwing it down and it's also not a completely flat surface.

 Re: Custom rod holders
I use the ram mount rod holders. Removable and they work great.

 Re: Custom rod holders
I thought about mounting one or two of those on my grab rail. Only place they'd mount on my boat.
