Thinking about putting some under water led light on my next rig. Anyone put any on their boats?

And I'm not sure if I want to go the cheap route or go ahead and get the good ones.

I will probably cut a hole in the transom and recess it then take some 1/2 rod and weld on the outside so nothing can get in there to break them.

you should know that you get what you pay for.

these lights are at the top of the marine lighting game.

I know they are probably great quality but I have a hard time payin that much money for a light. Wouldn't be bad if I could get a pair for around that though.

Will they serve a purpose or will it just be for the pimp factor?

Friend of mine has the underwater LED lights on his wake boarding rig. They are super bright but as far as being able to actually see anything with them under water they aren't all that great after a few feet from the boat. It just throws light everywhere to the point where it's useless, but it does look really cool. And just make sure you get good ones. I only run rigids!

Don't use Ocean LED....had more problems with them than its worth! They are not very durable.

Well I don't think any one of them are going to be durable enough to stand what we hit in reverse.

Nor even sure if what I put up there will keep small sticks and whatnot out.

I saw somewhere someone did some recessed Rigid cubes with some expanded metal grills in the transom. Looked pretty slick. Came on with a pressure switch hooked in the reverse caliper hose, it was a brake light switch off a motorcycle.

As far as the others, a friend of mine just wired in a drain plug light on his bass boat. It is stupid bright and seems to be tough as hell. Probably only good for the 'look at me' factor but if that's what you're looking for it may work out! Lol

I've seen the drain plug lights and they stick out from the transom. I'd think one stump hit and she's a goner
