I have to say that I wish I would have listened and did this when I first got my boat.My bottom on boat had a few small pits from salt where it sat on the bunks,GatorGlide would have protected bottom from salt or the evil treated wood problem. So guys please check your bottoms and don't hesitate to do the GatorGlide because Frog/David will be on the phone helping and giving great tips as you go through the steps,He was really a great guy to call for info.I sanded mine down to metal and did the 4 coats of the Base and 4 coats of the G2.Good Luck....http://www.gatorglide.com/ IMG_0189.JPG IMG_0191.JPG http://www.gatorglide.com/ |

You can have Jimmy stands if you have a hookup with a Freight liner. |

I suspended my last boat, and had some 55 gallon drums under there with me incase the straps holding the boat took a shit. It was a little nerve racking being under there. ![]() |

Wait minimum of 24 hrs I believe. Longer the better before you hit the water. |

Great job Jimmy! Never can be too careful. I always roll a couple 30 gal drums under there with me, can only save ya ass! You can put it on the trailer in 24 hrs but don't trailer it anywhere for 72. The longer the better for anything to cure. Most product that call for 72 hrs are only 90% cured. The way we run we need 99%! PS I had to be real nice to Jimmy cause I didn't want an asswhoopen like the one Will's getting ![]() |

If I'm not mistaken Frog said the plastic bunks will cause GG to wear off prematurely. I sure felt like that was the case w mine. I removed plastic and GG the 2x4s. We'll see... |

I'm about to remove the plastic slicks as well of my mclain trailer, they're already scuffing my GG. I use strong transom straps and tighten the hell out of them to keep it from moving around but it still appears to be rubbing some. I would almost think carpet would be better to trailer the GG on. As far as picking the boat up, find a buddy with a truck crane. I had my whole boat stripped to bare hull in about 20min and ready to flip/hang and start cleaning/applying. Has anyone tried the plastic deck boards they sell for outdoor patios? They seem softer than wood. |

Put GG on my boat last weekend. Got a little redneck with the lifting. My pickup was connected to the trailer out of the picture. I crawled around under the trailer so that if the winch cable broke I wouldn't get flattened. If the oak limb would've given out, I just would've been screwed! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So for an 18x54 I could get the G4 1 gallon kit (1/2 gal base and 1/2 gal G4) would that be enough to cover the 80 sq ft I need ? I saw where the website said 1 gal does 200 sq ft. Is that 1 gal of G4 or is the 1/2 gal of base and 1/2 gal G4 ? Also is that for 1 coat or for all 4-5 coats total? I can call them Tom and ask but I figured some one on here would already know. Thanks guys |

Yes, it'll be enough. But trust me when I say give him a call. He knows the product, isn't a salesman, and will help you every step of the way, from figuring out what you need, to application while you're in the process, to cleanup afterwards. He's a good dude. |
