Post Hull painting
Getting ready to order a hull and to save a little cash I'm gonna paint it myself. I have access to a shop an HVLP spray gun setup, is this the best route or will I be just as well off to rattle can it? Also what kinds of paint and primer are you using? Also installing gator glide so I'm curious which order would be best to put them on? Thanks y'all

If your going to glide, leave the bottom bare.

use the search feature located in the top tool bar, there was a lot of guys in the past that have done it many ways with a lot of success stories.

I would spray it with a hvlp gun. And don't get cheap paint either. The cheap flat paint is very chalky and does not hold up.

I seem to have good luck with Nason paint. It's a DuPont paint.

For primer I use a 2 part etching primer. Many paint store should have it. Or you could get wash primer from Sherwin Williams

With a bare hull you need to use a primer made for alum!! I ordered my paint from Lock Stock and Barrel, a gallon for base coat and a quart each for the other two colors (Natgear) that was years ago and not one scratch on the hull to date!!!
