 Floor coverings
What y'all have on your floors, I know about hydro turf just wanted to see what else is out there, maybe some kind of texture or bed liner? I've got a new boat on order and I'm planning on doing the painting and floor material myself so thought id get some ideas before I started the project.

 Re: Floor coverings
I have safe floor in half my boat and hydro turf in the other half. I'll take the hydroturf any day over the safe floor.
The safe floor stuff they say isnt heavy but I haven't got all mine out yet to see exactly how heavy. Its kinda like the stuff they put on a running track, just not as thick. It does get rather hot though in the sun. It seems to be pretty common in the bay boats around here. The place that did it is in Kemah I think.

 Re: Floor coverings
Had hydro turf in my last boat. Never had any issues with it. Thinking about trying neo mats this time. Anybody use those?

 Re: Floor coverings
Not sure, its similar to a yoga mat. It's not going to last like the real stuff does, but it can be easily patched up if it ever tears or whatever. If you can afford the real stuff, go with it... I couldn't, and im happy how this turned out. I pieced it all together in the boat, measuring it out, and cut it with a straight edge and a box cutter. Took it all out, put it together on the ground upside down with staples and gorilla tape. Sprayed the bottom of hull with 3m glue and put the whole floor back in, in 1 piece.

 Re: Floor coverings
Installed the sears stuff last year and it's holding up good. Only cost about $100 to do.

That's one of the best looking Sears turf jobs I've seen done... Any more pics of that boat?

 Re: Floor coverings
Thanks picked it up from Uncle J January of 2014. Did all the rigging and paint work while we waited for our lake to unfreeze here in Minnesota.

 Re: Floor coverings
Really nice job on the rigging. Always liked the lines on J's boats. That nat-gear paint looks real nice too.

 Re: Floor coverings
Hydroturf baby! Bought closeout sheets, don't give a damn if two clashing camo patterns upset your totalitarian symmetrical mindset. A duck boat is not a bass boat and you can stick your metalflake elsewhere.
