I recently purchased this boat and it has been a pain to plain out especially with a load. With me alone (300lb man) and 4 batteries and 6 gallons of fuel it will plane out but im only getting about 22-24 mph. With 3 guys and full bowfishing load I cant get it to plane at all and its a struggle to run 18-20 mph. Was wondering if this is just gonna be the best it will do or if there maybe something I can do to help it plane and pick up speed. |

I would put that gas tank up front to start off with then move anything else around in the boat until you see it getting on step quicker. That boat is a little short for a huge load meaning it will haul it but wont win any races doing so. |

17 1/2 foot overall length with hunt deck if that makes any difference. I was told it should run mid twenties with a load. Ive tried moving things around. it helps some but not a very notable difference |

I think you may be just where im at with a 17/48 with me and another and a load the stock motor is just barely getting the job done and if its three and a load the boat acts like a turd. You can play with trim pin and props some and move weight around but you'll still be left wanting more and start saving for mods like Im doing. You may wanna look into heads carb and exhaust. |

that's what I figured guess I better save up some money and I also think I need to buy a smaller gas tank. for whatever reason it had an 18 gallon tank in it when I got it |

Can you say "time to spend some money on mods!"? These motor just are not that big and stock they definitely do not have the load carrying ability. Even with basic mods and a heavy load they are not going to roll the way an outboard will. Carb, exhaust and heads will make a huge difference though. |

No that is what the fella I bought it from swore he could do. That being said I'm not trying to win any races. I'm trying to get to places the speedsters can't go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It won't make it plane but the torque is better in my opinion. You can stick it deep into the shit Sent from...wait, Where am I? |
