I have a 16x44 crawfish skiff and I'm thinking of putting a 37gtr! Y'all think it'll handle it ok? Does anybody had one on a similar size boat and how does it do?

I have a tall transom 35 gtr on a 1642. Not the best combo but it gets the job done.

It's 24 inch sides and 23 inch transom

The transom needs to be 21" for the gtr... But as far as the boat handling the motor, you will be fine.

Will it hurt putting in on a 23 inch transom?

Are you measuring the transom correctly??

How do you measure correctly?

From the top edge of the transom along an imaginary line straight down to the plane of the bottom of the boat. Do not follow the transom itself. As if you hung a plumb bob off the back of the boat.
