I have a 1854 cc gator tail 37efi with hydraulic steering and when running wide open its hard to turn. I'm wondering if it's a weight distribution problem or hydraulic steering problem. I've found the best speeds are when I'm running 3900-4100 rmps but when turning it sounds like its cavitating. Think I may need more weight in the front of the boat but I'm not sure if this is the problem. Any info or advice would be much appreciated.

Yeah I've heard the sea star would be better but I don't really want to spend the money right now to upgrade. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a weight distribution issue before I thought about upgrading hydraulic steering. It's manageable for now just takes some effort to turn running wide open in bays.

I'm not positive but I believe mine on my PD is Seastar and I've had zero issues with it whatsoever. To me it doesn't seem like weight distribution should make that big of a difference, something doesn't seem right there...

It turns fine when at low speeds or trailered that's why I was thinking it was another issue.
