I want to install a winch on the front of my jon boat I can get it welded or bolted. I would like to see your setup picture would be great. I do not have a welded boat, Its a tracker topper so I will have to reinforce it somehow. Thanks |

I have a short chain I loop through a hole in the winch plate and the spud hole. |

X3 I found a thread on here where a guy welded a tab to the winch plate. I haven't had to use my winch yet, been able to get out and push! If and when I have to use it, I will chain it to the handles on my bow and transom. I think it should hold; they look like good welds.

I mounted mine in the front hatch so it's always there when I need it. I have a tendency of taking things out of my boat that aren't bolted down to cut down weight You never know when you're gonna need a winch so mine is permanent8-) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk |

I like it to be portable because most of the time I want to winch back to where I come from, not further in.
