How do you guys run your jerk line into the boat blind? Do you cut a small hole in the side of the blind to run it through? Do you run it under all your material? I would think doing this would cause the blind to move around when you pulled the chord. I really don't want to cut a hole in that expensive blind material, but then again, I got it to kill ducks, not to look pretty. |

Depends on how the blind is set up. I built mine so the bottom part can move up and down some just for that very reason. |

Through the drain plug hole. Keeps everything below the waterline... |

12 lb mushroom anchor with a carabiner through the eye. Sink it right next to the boat and run the line through the carabiner. The line will then run over the rail of the boat and then straight down, makes a 90º turn at the anchor, and heads towards the decoys. All below the waterline, no blind movement. |

Make sure you get a nice stainless carabiner that's good and smooth or else you'll part the line in a hurry. |

A pipe with an eye screwed into it is what I use. a lot lighter than an anchor |

I've pulled the string around the bow of the boat so it goes underneath and run it over the back into the boat. Works fine unless you're on top of really heavy vegetation or mud. Doesn't visibly move your blind or cover either. |

Admitting you use a jerk rig puts you in an elite category of waterfowlers, not an ersatz spinning decoy user with a remote SOB! ![]() |
