I recently purchased an older welded Lowe 1442 as a project boat. I typically run a river that is shake rock so I'd like to add whatever I can to protect the integrity of the bottom of the boat. I know some of you will be internet creepers and say to just get a thicker hull boat, but that wasn't an option for me. My question is, have any of you applied a smooth roll-on bed liner to the underside of your boat to help protect against rock scratches? I've seen a lot about gator glide but not sure what it really is because I'm in IL and we don't have cool stuff like that up here. |

UHMW is about the only thing that would help and it would cost more than you spent on that boat. |

GG is good stuff but won't live long with rocks or sand. |

What about a few coats of roll on bedliner. The smooth stuff that I can get from Menards. |

It may help with small gouges but not with dents. Poly like cb said would probably work the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Bedliner will probably peel with impact and also add more resistance as I don't know of a smooth Bedliner most advertise a non slip liner to keep stuff from sliding around in the bed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Bed liner will be like dragging an anchor. Slick bottom will reduce impact by reducing friction and can be easly touched up. |
