I'm planning on having another boat made after season and I'm starting to spec this one out, definitely going with a hybrid semi v on this one, thought I could get away with a true flat bottom since it's 18' I was very wrong haha to much open deep water around here so time to get a semi v to help my back a little. I'm planning on getting another 1854 again and I started to wonder what angle the semi v should be as well as how long it should be. Could I put more angle or length into the v to get better cut through waves or will I be sacrifing surface drive performance? |

In my opinion the happy medium is 3°. 6° goes over hard mud with ease, and waves don't pound at 6° either. But the 3° could probably do soup mud better. It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |

Then I would definitely go with a 6° since we have 95% hard bottom |

Ya like this I'm assuming his is gonna be custom bilt. We have mostly clay bottoms and sand here. This hull does fine. I've had it in soup once. It wouldn't get on plane in the soup but I could do 9mph through it. It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |

Yes not long ago. Didn't think it really existed lol. I love it ! Not for everyone though that's why it's a custom rig lol . Perfect for what I'm using it for. Pete nailed it on what I wanted. |
