I have a 1436 with a gx390 on a copperhead frame looking to go a little bigger the 1542 is only 30 pounds heavier anyone have a similar set up or any ideas how it will ride?

I'd go with the 1542. Wider longer platform. 30 lbs isn't much. You can always distribute the weight.

thanks for the tip. i wasn't sure if the wider bottom and extra weight were going to kill my top speed. its not a speed demon to begin with but it goes pretty good now with the 1436 and dont want to give up too much.
