Hey Guys,

After having a longtail for a couple years I got tired of going 18mph and sold my rig. The mud motor 25 hp limit in WMA's helped speed up the decision to sell my 27 ;). Now I have decided to go with a outboard tunnel hull rig so i can go faster and still get through pretty shallow stuff.

I decided to go with tiller steer to keep the boat open, and know I want to go with a 90-115hp engine, currently leaning toward an ETEC 90 because its the lightest of the bunch. I also know I want to go with a custom built heavy/mud hull. The problem I am running into is there is NOT a lot of information on tunnel hulls and it seems everyone does theirs a little different.

Does anyone know how to figure the dimensions on a tunnel so to avoid cavitation and blow out problems? There is also a lot of difference of opinion on venting the tunnel...

I got the itch to have this boat built asap, i just want to make sure i get it done right!

Save your time and money on the tunnel. They are slow and very hard to set up. Build you a long flat bottom boat with a hydraulic Jackplate. Take it from someone who has been there and Thank me later.
