 Lowe Roughneck 1860 Shallow Water
Wondering how a 37 PD with a Center Console would push this boat? Anybody run one of these? https://www.loweboats.com/hunting-boats ... low-water/There are not any mud boat builders in Alberta but we can get these, only motor dealer is PD. The dealer sells a 1862 which a lighter boat but riveted and .78 instead or .100. They are Jet Boat guys... http://explorerindustries.com/index.php?area_id=1001I run a 1648 Polarkraft riveted with a 25 PD for work. Works great but thinking about something more family friendly. Running sandy, rocky rivers.

Other than making sure the transom angle is right for the motor, the combo would work well

I have a 1760 Roughneck review in the reviews section. Might help you see speeds etc...

Really no welded boat builders up there I'm surprised with the rocks there would be some

Why not buy a PD boat since it's a PD dealer?

Re: Lowe Roughneck 1860 Shallow Water
I think they only sell motors. Not sure if PD boats can be sold in Canada. There is an involved process to import boats for sale. But I didn't ask if they would sell a boat. At 65 cents on the dollar plus shipping it cost close to double for a PD boat here...
They are putting PD's on their Jon boats, which are light .78 and come in 16X62, 18X62 or 20X769. They make and sell jet boats. It was 21K for their plain 1862 with a center console PD last year, will be more this year.
Other options would be to buy another Jon boat, re the Lowe, thicker hull, or perhaps a Crestliner or Lund 18X52 and build in a console.
I notice that you guys put your consoles closer to the back. The dealer wants to put it more in the middle. Is there a reason you put them farther back? Does Console placement effect performance?

Yes sucks with the dollar so low. You will want to up power that motor. That boat will hold a lot of weight . And that's when you will want the extra horse power

They put the console closer to the back on a mud boat so they can have all the hunting gear and bullshit in the front of the boat exclusively. It rides better and it's safer than have a bunch of stuff around you while you're driving
It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.

Re: Lowe Roughneck 1860 Shallow Water
You'll want your cargo farther to the front to help offset the weight of the motor. Doesn't have a whole lot to do with safety lol, that's more shit to trip on causing a hazard if you want to be real technical.....
