Why not get them to draft you a bill of sale for a new boat. Custom boats don't have nada value. Most financial institutions won't finance a custom boat. Because they are not a reputable producer of a name brand product. You're asking to get a hot rod and tell the bank it's a 69 Chevelle. Nada doesn't include super chargers and 500+ci big blocks. Best chance you got is a bill of sale from gator trax It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |

I'm sorry about your luck flint, and I'm pretty sure I remember the guy your talking about. If it wasn't him then someone else did it to another person. Is another builder an option, I'm not sure if prodigy is up on nada or not. But I'm guessing not. Shit. Second mortgage and buy 2? It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |

My credit union financed my prodigy, and this was when they first started, before anyone knew who they were. |

The money people barrow on these things amazes me. Honestly you could walk out of go devil with a brand new rig for under 11 if you kept it basic. Attempted to finance my boat for hell of it/credit build. Got real tired of headache of lining that up and am so glad I paid in full and walked out with a title, no leans, etc. 5 years of ownership without a payment has been great. Depending on your interest rate you're 11k rig could cost closer to 13k by the time its all said and done. |

And that 20K rig could end up high 20's... Put a large portion down, at least pay for your upgrades in cash pay that first years depreciation if you can and just finance the basic boat/motor. That's pretty much what I did. Financed about 12K at 1% on a 16.5K rig. Basically day one I wasn't upside down in it and could sell it and be in good shape if I had to. That's the idea anyway. I should have it paid for in less than 2 years. |

Setxlt is spot on, that and get a good interest rate like he stated. Therefore if you do it this way and pay for a 20k rig in say three years, may cost 21 22k. Yet, you are also building your credit as you do this. Now I know some say just buy the Damn thing, but some would rather finance. It's personal preference, but I do recommend following a pay off plan so to not pay too much extra when financing. |

Banks tend to shy away from deals they can't put a value on because most of the loans are put in fancy computers and they spit out yes or no based on input credit and boat values . I ran into this problem. Find a bank with a loan officer who makes the decisions themselves. I got a good rate and no hassle financing on my boat this way. I agree try not to finance all the boat if you can. Most banks will require a portion down anyways. |

Having a good credit history can help you out big time. I paid out a shit ton in interest on my PD when I got it. It was a stupid rate. Season was closing in fast and I needed a motor in a hurry. I knew what I was getting into but it still hurt at the time. I wasn't happy. Its all well paid off now but I could've gotten a stage 2 set of mods for what I lost in interest. That said, without good credit I wouldn't have been able to do it at all and wouldn't have been hunting that year. I beat myself up for it the whole time but when I bought my first home this year that motor loan I had paid off gave me just enough credit history to get the lowest interest rate possible on my home. The stupid loan I beat myself up over ended up helping me out in the long run. |

My credit union has the lowest interest rates for just about anything, that I've have ever seen. I used to deal with our local bank and my credit union, and now, I deal with just the credit union. they're good people. |
