I'm running a 17/48 phowler with a stage 2 moded 36 PD. Gonna do some modifications to my boat and was thinking about bringing my 2nd battery to the back of the boat, but place it on the other side. Do you guys think that it will add too much weight to the rear?? |

What are you modifying that u can't run off of 1 battery? Our second battery is only for our trolling motor. Otherwise only 1 battery during hunting season. We need all the free space and less weight as possible. |

I run two batteries in the back all the time. Rarely pull the trolling battery out of the boat...even when the trolling motor is not on the boat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sometimes, I run two batteries, two ice chests and two extra cans of gas in the back.... I leave room in the front for other stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Even during hunting season, an extra battery is just cheap insurance. I never go out without 2 in the boat. |

It is hard to add too much weight to the stern of these boats, since they have so little bow lift already. I run one battery in the bow and one in the stern. If you are still reluctant, just borrow an old battery from someone and take a run with it in there. See how it does. |
