I have a 18/56 excel f4 right now wanting to get rid of it. Looking to get a prodigy or gator tail what are your guys opinion on the the two. I live in Ca so hard to drive to any dealer to check them out. |

Both are great boats, I own a prodigy and have zero complaints. The bot looks good drives good and is built like a tank. Both brands have good customer service so you should call and get technical spec and prices for the boat you are wanting. What size boat and motor are you wanting? |

18 is a good size, you will have plenty of room. Call them up and get him to build you a quote with all the options you want and add a couple hundred for shipping. I have an 1854 and I love the size. If you have any questions on must have options PM me or as the guys or gals at prodigy. |

I have an 1848 prodigy. My buddy has a 1860 (really 2060) gatortrax. Both are built like a tank. The gatortrax (round chine) will turn better and high speeds, but wonders/ slides at slow speeds. My prodigy turns better at 50% throttle and below. Both are about the same at 75% throttle and mine is harder to turn at wide open. Having said that... I love my boat. Plus Chad will make it with whatever options you want. Prodigy is a great company to work with. |
