 Re: New motor
35hp, brand of your choosing. You'll probably hook it up real good then need a new hull. Maybe you'll use the search feature when that time comes.

 Re: New motor
Not all marshes are the same, but I would see what your colleagues on the eastern shore use? Read some articles about the Delmarva area and I know you have both the challenge of big water and shallow areas. Bigbend is right, a 35 would be a minimum to power that roughneck, it is not a lightweight hull and add three hunters and gear and you need the horses! You'll lose some speed versus the 40 Johnson, but gain the ability to traverse the skinny. Whatever you get, test drive them all before making the investment!

 Re: New motor
I got a 35gtr on a 1648. I run about 27 light. I'd recommend at least a 35. Where are you located? I'm in Winchester if you ever want to meet up and test drive it.

 Re: New motor
I have an 1854 with a gtr 37. I would recommend nothing less than a 37, I wish I had the 4400 when on big water.
