Anybody with a 23 Copperhead, what hull do you have it on and what speeds are you getting?

I know a few folks that swear by 1542-1544. But they are factory hulls.

I built a 1548 and it runs well and will outrun a factory hull any day. It was plenty steady. All 1/8 with .100 floor, drivers seat and small deck. It would run 27 or so solo.

Anything from 1442 to 1648 would probably be perfect for that motor.

Like North LA said keep it between 1442 and 1648. I would caution you on a 1648 though it its a heavier boat (all 1/8) as these motors arent all that strong. That being said ive never slapped one on a 1648 so I could be wrong. I think 1544-1548 would be just about ideal for that motor. I you want light load speed, then 1442, but it you want all around better load carrying and drivability, I'd do a 1548.

I had one on a 1448 and 1544. The 1544 handled much much better, the 1448 liked to bounce and was harder to turn. the 1544 turned great and just felt better, ran 27-28 with just one person and gas on a light jon boat.

I'd love to see someone drop one on a light 1740 with a few mods.
