 How much weight?
After seeing several people with dented and hooked up boats use filler, snot, putty, paint, etc to fill in their hooks and repair the bottom of their hull it got me thinking. When the day comes I need to consider this myself, wouldn't it be easier to just beat the hooks flat, and spot weld another sheet of 1/8 or even 3/16 to the bottom? Drill holes and weld/sand flat along the stringers and weld out the edges. It would be stronger than before if it was welded right?
Also, would it be necessary to cover the whole bottom to the rake or say, the last 5-6' (depending on damage) and then smooth the transition of the small edge you'd create. It would add less weight but I don't know what kind of impact that partial sheet would have on the bottom.
My hull is still in good shape but I know after some years in the woods, it's gonna happen. Just brainstorming for the future I guess.

 Re: How much weight?
Now that I'm getting older (turned 30 this year) and I don't have much facial hair YET, but I expect that by the time I'm 40, I should be able to really get a really respectable beard going. I need to know whats the best method to keep it looking nice. I currently have a nice Braun electric razor with the auto cleaner and just wondering if I should put it back in the drawer and save it for when I actually need it? I appreciate it guys. Re: How much weight?
J- also 30 with shitty facial hair. Better than ever right now but it still sucks. Ass is hairy Af tho... Wish I could trade out. Setx- the shit I put on the bottom of my boat weighed less than 20lbs together as shipped. Minus the box and buckets it came in.... Didn't add enough weight to matter. Huge performance and handling gains. Beat on some stumps last weekend and it hung in there. Im sold.

 Re: How much weight?
no, the thing to do is just get another boat made with a 3/16'' bottom and proper bracing. and then throw your speedometer in the trash and enjoy what u got. lol
on the other issue, they can shave your taint and add the hair on your chin to fill in your beard. I think you have to go to a special place for the haircuts.
good luck!!!!

 Re: How much weight?
J- DA is right on the money, taint hair is where it's at. Flint- I'm not concerned with the weight really I guess. I just really would rather re-skin the bottom once in a looooong while vs redoing filler every year or two. DA, I don't have a problem with my hull currently, and don't figure I will for some time, but it's gonna happen. Who knows, by then I may have had something purpose built for that in mind. Chances are, the ol GoDevil will still be hanging around. I'm not overly concerned with speed, but I would like to maintain the performance that I have with a boat with no hooks. I guess I titled the thread wrong, the weight isn't an issue really. I didn't have much going on earlier today.

 Re: How much weight?
the big advantage is that it curls up like a pubic hair so it looks well kept even though it's long.!!!!!
