I had a boat built last year by Uncle J. Great boat, no complaints. Solid. I'll likely never sell it. I'm going to put a modded 35 or a big outboard on it. I'm going to get a lighter and faster boat for the 25. The current boat is a 17x48 with 3/16 bottom, square chine, 4ft deck w/storage, hunt deck, and single seat rear storage. The new boat will be 1/8th and as basic as can be. Any suggestions on size and design? I'll probably keep the hunt deck, but lose the hinged storage on the front deck and the built in rear seat/storage. |

If you're going to do all 1/8, save some extra weight somewhere else to be used in the bottom in the way of extra bracing/stringers. |

I'm tempted to even go the .100 route. I've been reading everything I can on here tied to boats for the 25. |

For that motor, .100 ought to be fine. Thicker isn't always required, especially when you aren't putting a 35 on it. Many builders won't go thinner than 1/8th, though. |

I'm either going to have Jason build it in 1/8th, or possibly build it myself. At this point I'm just trying to decide on a size. 16.5 x 46 seems to be the hot hull for the 25, but I was leaning towards narrower and longer. Possibly 18x40 |

I came across some post he made. I was going to contact him, but he hasn't visited the site in quite a while now. (says he lives in Beaumont too) |

I feel like a light, but well braced 1840 (maybe 42) with .125 bottom and all else built from .100 would be a really well matched hull for that Robin. A square or single taper chine will be your friend to create lift and help you carry loads better with minimal Hp. This all depends on the intended use of the rig of course wether it's primarily hunting only, hunting/fishing etc... |
