Can't decide on boat need some opinions...
Just like the title say I can't decide between 3 boats:
1. Gator Trax 17x50 with hunt deck Motor 37Efi
2. Havoc 17x56 mts Motor 37efi
3. Excel f4 17x54 Motor 37efi
All motors with reverse.
I'm honestly leaning towards a gator trax but have never been in one. All my buddies run either havoc or excel.
I'll be hunting timber of Arkansas and some public land in Tennessee with cut boat roads. And some fishing in the spring.

Between those 3, no contest. You've gotten the right answer.

How much timber hunting? If it is most of you use, I'd get either a 1750 with no huntdeck, or a 1650 with the huntdeck. Either would be a little more nimble, as a 1750 HD is 18'8" long. If it's just some occasional timber, then the length won't matter as much.

Gatortrax, hands down, especially if handling and turning around stumps or timber is an issue. The handling alone would be a huge deciding factor for what you will be running. I have had a tapered chine rig and now have a rounded chine Gatortrax and there is really no comparison. Nobody likes sliding into a turn and slamming into a stump or tree, toes can get broken, don't ask me how I know that.

I have a Gatortrax 1650 hybrid huntdeck (17'8"). It's all you need lengthwise in the woods. Personally, I wouldn't want another foot of boat.
I hunt timber in that boat. It will turn on a dime. Get you an open floor plan and have them put the gas tank in the huntdeck.

Ha, Frog I'll say this. It sure makes hiding the boat easy in the woods when you got to move it 200 yds from the spread and the last 50 are dry!

Gator Trax. I have a 1750 hybrid huntdeck and use it year round for fishing and hunting. If you do much fishing take a good look at the removable rear casting deck option.
