Looking hard into ta gator tail extreme series package. im torn between the 1848 (18" sides) and the 1754 (21" sides) either way with the 37 efi gtr. Im a big guy and ill be carrying a couple guys with me most of the time duck hunting. Ive heard the 18" sides are sketchy sometimes like what are on the 1848 package. Also i wonder which would perform better hauling a load? does the wider boat plane out better? I wont be running any mudflats, im in central florida it will just be thick vegetation. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks |

Flip a coin between the two. I run a 1748 with 3 guys and gear and have no issues. The 21" sides are a better idea since you're asking. |

I got an 1854 with 24" sides not the extreme, and it hauls a load great Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have 21'' sides, and I feel much more comfortable with the kids in the boat than my previous 18incher. |

I run a 17x48 with 18 inch sides. I'm a big guy with big friends and wish I had a 54inch wide boat. The 48 will sit a little low and take a minute to plain out with 3 of us in it. |
