3 man hide, 35 surface drive, can't plane, had to do 10 knots just about 2000 rpm was the best speed, anything over 2g and I only gained a few more knots with 2 guys we fly, saturday that 3rd guy and gear was just too much figure I had close to 900lbs load in the boat, at the ramp and dropped a guy off and one bag of goose decoys came back on plane and scooted along, at least now I know the limit. |

I've had a 3man hide for 6 seasons. I have a G3 PD on mine. What I have learned. #1 she won't ever be fast. I have heads, and aftermarket EFI. Empty boat, best prop, I get 28; #2 the boat will always have a sharp "tipping point". A 100 lbs will change you from planed out and rollin' to barge like plowin' #3 you need 2 props, one for when you're running light, the other for when you're fat. Take an inch or two of pitch out of your prop and you'll get the fat girl up on plane, but you're probably going to run 20-22. Beats 8-9 . Another thing I've learned, contrary to what everyone says. This boat runs better with weight in the back. There is a narrow margin of error. Start with guys in the back, and move them forward as you need. Good luck, |
