Post ProDrive and pods
Well,
After spending months building out a new boat, I dropped it in the water, 2 guys, dog and dekes, only to find it wouldn;t break 10mph. Scratch head, talk to PD folks, try shifting ballast, no joy.
Finally I got fed up and cut the pods off. Happy days! While its not breaking any speed records, got 20 knots out of it with same load. I read up on pods and surface drives before I went ahead and put them on, some said yea some said nay. Took my chances given the weight of the motor, but did not pay off.
I will post a thread on the build soon, but heres 2 pics of before and after the pods.IMG_0324.JPG

Glad to hear you are no longer plowing, erosion from the wake isn't good for the shoreline.

Just to clarify, Dennis, you're saying 20 knots. Do you mean 20 knots (23 mph), or are you really doing 20 mph.

Have you seen if your motor will push that prop I loaned you?

Just out of curiosity, were you able to spin that PD lower unit into reverse with the pods on there?
