 Gator trax boat question
Looking at a used 2004 1854 gator trax boat. Other than looking for the usual hooks and damage. Anything I should look into on that particular hull. Has the design changed much from then to now. Any info would be appreciated.

I don't think I've ever heard of a single complaint on the build quality of a gator trax boat. They're really underrated, only thing people complain about is hooks at that false transom on the hunt deck models and they're a little slow bc of the chine design.

 Re: Gator trax boat question
I bought a used Gator Trax off of this forum last year, it had your typical dings from a used duck boat. I gutted all the foam and put a 37efi GTR on the back. I can tap 30 with just me in the boat, no load. The gator trax hull will out-manuver any other hull due to the rounded chine. She will not slide in a turn. Great boat and the guys at the factory are great to deal with.

She will slide in a turn. Boat width and load have an effect on that.

 Re: Gator trax boat question
What russ said. I had one that I didnt think would slide either. Put the right amount of ass on the left side and turn right real hard and its gonna slide. Oh, and when it stops sliding you arent gonna like it because you'll think you sunk your boat. Also check for cracked welds around the gunnels. Probably just because I was trying to run 72 inches of boat between 70 inches of tree(my boat literally shrunk. I started with a 72 inch boat and when i sold it it measured 71.25) but I had to have mine rewelded several times. That being said I beat the absolude shit out of mine and with a modded gtr with a hammer prop it would step a two man hunt load and still run 28ish. They're tanks and do handle extremely well. Just dont get to thinking that they will not slide bc about the time you think that, you'll either be beached or will have spun 180 degrees and be wondering why the bilge is running.
