Boat should be ready from gatortail by the end of the month and was wondering what trolling motor you guys are running. It's been a while since I've been in the market for one and man these things have gotten fancy. Are all the new bells and whistles worth the extra money and if not which ones can you not live with out. Thanks in advance and the countdown to teal season is on! |

I just got a Minn Kota 55lb I pilot saltwater trolling motor. Don't really care for foot controlled and it wasn't too much more for the i pilot from the hand controlled. I've used it 4-5 times a week for about 3 weeks now and like it. The remote takes some getting use to but I think I've got it figured out now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Minn Kota 55 edge 55 here...plenty of power for my 1848. I have the hand control with big foot arm and foot power pedal. Not enough room on my deck for the foot control model. Plus if I try to stand up and do it I'll fall in the water. |

Just saw this post. What trolling motor did you get? I have a Minn Kota Edge 55lb thrust on a 20x60 GDSD and it feels way underpowered. I understand that to go bigger I would need to add another battery though. |

I have a 55# hand job min kota. Lakes and slack tides it does great. I would like a little more in heavy current but honestly it does fine. Definitely do not want another battery. |

I have a Minn Kota riptide 55 hand control. Very wide 19 foot boat. Works fine. Did not want a 24 volt motor. |

Minn Kota 55 has been pushing my 1860 for years. I have an early version of the iPilot. I plan on upgrading to a newer TM later this year. I am really considering going with a 24V system. |
