Hello. New to the forum. I am getting ready to upgrade from my 1436 paired with a medium sps kit with a 420 Lifan. I’ve had it for 3 years now and just ready to go bigger. So I’m looking to get a 27hp Kohler to put on a large kit and throw it on an 1848 Jon. Does everyone think this is the right boat decision? My one delima is that the only 1848 i can find out here is made by alumacraft and only offers 20” transom. So either I make a road trip out of state to get an 1848 weld-craft or get the alumacraft and cut the transom down 4”. What’s the right call here? Also alumacraft 1848 is only .070” |

Almost worth the trip to order a custom mud boat hull and get at least a .125 hull. !8x48 or 18x46 with 18" sides. You will be surprised that the cost is not all that high, possibility cheaper even! |

I know I can order a bot built by weld-craft through a place in Idaho. But idk about any more boat builders around california. The ones I do find build boats for the ocean, idk if they do jon boats. Definitely wanna get it right the first time though! |

Just another reason not to live in California added to the list: 1. Liberals 2. illegals invaders have more rights than citizens 3. Jerry Brown 4. Run by Democrats 5. Nancy Pelosi 6. Maxine Waters 7. No mud boat manufacturers!(probably should be listed above Moonbeam Brown)
