I did a search and did find all the info I was looking for. I am going to have a receiver for a winch welded to my boat, and while the welder has it I figured I would have him weld on some sleeves for spud poles. What diameter sleeve should I use on a 1648 mud hull? What material are you using for your poles? I would be using these in all types of bottoms. |

I vote for the fiberglass poles or “stick pins”. They are way quieter, hold better, won’t bend in waves, and generally easier to get longer. Wear gloves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’m running the 1” diameter pins. The aluminum spud poles hold like shit in gravel. I haven’t found a condition where I didn’t think the fiberglass poles held better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’m running the super stick poles on my 1748. The larger of the two options they offer. Hold great light weight and when it comes time to pull up I can bend back and forth slightly to loosen from bottom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes, I’m just running them in the spud pole holes that come standard on a gatortail boat. I don’t tighten them down, you want the boat to be able to move up and down on them or you’ll pull them up when you walk to the back of the boat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
