I had Baggy's recup my old prop and change the pitch to 13, I was hoping to get a little more performance than a new factory. Well, it didn't work, when I sent the old prop to them it measured 12.25 tip to tip, I got it back barely over 11 tip to tip. I'm thinking the pitch change might have shortened it a little but not that much. It had a nice cup added to it but the performance is slightly less than a new factory on low end and about 2 mph slower on top end. All in all at a third of the cost of a new one, it'll work as a back up prop i guess...

Had a friend who did the same, he wore his down about 1/4'' total, so sent to baggy and had a bunch of cup to make up for lost blade area.

He said all it did was make it pull harder as in "tiller torque"...so i guess propping these things is hard..

Its like the hopkins props, i would love to try one some say great things and some say stick with stock....

Yeah, one day I might try a hopkins and pray I end up with one that works. From what I understand it's a hit or miss with them. The stock props just don't last around here as soft as they are with sandy bottoms.

Some say they gain speed and load carrying but suck in the mud and grass.

Now, according to Hershey, he sais its better in the mud and lillies then the stock will ever be, plus it last longer...

I am the proud new owner of Hershey's famous "Magic Prop." When I test drove his boat it did 35mph with it. The motor has had a lot of work done to it, but his boat is also very very light. He has a 18x48 bateau of crimped 1/8" that has pretty much nothing but a front deck and a bucket to drive on. So, yeah, this thing does push his boat fast as hell. My boat works better with the stock prop just because its so much heavier than Hershey's. That 13 pitch is too much for me with a load. But, I keep it as a back up.

I can turn it, don't get me wrong. I just run better with the stock prop with a heavy load. That's why I stick with it.

Dude,,,35mph in a Pro-Drive!!! Thats moving! Bet no one passes him up...or very few anyway!
