The Nickel will make it last longer in weather, and normal wear and tear.. But, it wont help when you are running threw Sand.. Just picture a sandblasting machine hitting your prop..

What about putting a bead of tungsten on the edge of the prop? Thats some hard crap.

the great thing of this stuff is that you can buy a new prop get the boron baked in it goese about .05 in the metal but does not add any thing to the tolorances do not know about the impact on it but you can not scratch it with a file at all

The rockwell will vary between 36 and 48 depending on manufacturer.

this coating sounds very interesting. ive been told that the friction of the water and blades does cause heat. sounds funny as its in the water but that what ive heard. and this heat can be substanitial ? i would figure in the mud and sand etc. it would be more.

if this is so, how would the coating and the metal its bonded to react to the very rapid heat and cooling ?

maybe a prop guy on here could validate the heat of the spinning prop?
