I bought this prop from another member on here and it's too much prop for my engine. The prop is in excellent condition and according to the previous owner it had the 2" of pitch added to it by Hopkins. My motor was bumping the rev limiter with the factory 12x10 prop so I decided to give this one a try but, I couldn't get over 3800 rpm with it when carrying a heavy load (three guys and hunting gear). If it wasn't for this, I would keep it but with my current mods this is just too much prop. Thanks. |

Is it slower with the load? You don't have to be able to bump the rev limiter all the time... 3800 is a good cruising rpm especially when loaded down. |

I usually run it between 3700 and 3900 but with 2 people and a load my engine will rev out pretty quick. Which is why I thought this prop would help but when loaded down with 3 people, its too much prop. I know some guys here run their engines WOT all the time but I don't. So until I put a cam in I'm just going to run the stock prop. |

It must have had the cup played with. By just adding 2" of pitch it would not bog down your 5500. |
