I'm kind of new to mudmotors, I had a mudmotor with manual trim but recently purchased a 29hp Mudbuddy with electric trim. This probably sounds like a dumb question but does a person operate the electric trim like you would on an outboard? I have it on a 16X48 welded jon boat. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks |

About like an outboard but you can use it to trim way down and dig to get up/out depending on what you are in. Then bring it up as you get on plane and micro adjust for your best speed. Note you will get more product specific information on the MB forum. |

if you are in water and not mud, you will find a sweet spot when running. if you leave it there you should not have to move it. if your load changes you will need to adjust some. find that spot while running, then try it from a stop onto plane. the boat should drive foward pretty hard and the prop will be low in the water. as the boat starts to plane the prop should start surffacing and speed will gain. the stick should get a lighter feel. then up on plane and running. like it was said if you are in the thick stuff you will have to drop it down and dig out, then trim up. also as said depending on the motor and which trim unit you have (ie older mb) your trim may not work under that kind of load. at least thats how my bro-in-laws 35 hd with the electric style trim is. it will trim while running out but it will only click like its stripped in the hole shot. works fine other wise. |
