 Gatortail cavitation plate
I've seen a few guys in the Morgan City area with cavitation plates added on their motors. What exactly are the advantages/disadvantages when put on the GTRs? Any pics of them would also be appreciated.

 Re: Gatortail cavitation plate
whistling wings.....i had one on mine but i only use it during the fishing/summer season. its just good for reversing in deep water really. it minimizes backsplash, you can WOT and nothing comes in the boat, though if you have a hunt deck this does somewhat the same. the plate works decent in "sloshy mud" but sucks in real thick vegetation and lilles b/c it just bogs down (all of the vegetation clumps up around the prop and stays underneath plate inbetween prop and plate). again i use my during the offseason b/c it is nice to have in deep water it will help you go a little harder/faster in reverse too. ill take some pics tonight and post tomorrow.

 Re: Gatortail cavitation plate
One of the guys I work with from MC is in a lease with old man Scully. He was telling me how he built a cavitation plate for his GTR. Was wondering the benefits.

 Re: Gatortail cavitation plate
They suck in mud. Dont listen to anybody that takes info from scully about a gtr!!! My dad is best friends with him and guy dont know shit about them!! We tested with them and with out!! In some places they couldn't even get out the mud took 20 minutes od digging took them off and left first try!! What some people call mud is slush slush they will work mud they dont.. When you back up with motor trimmed down it pushes mud away from prop causing a air pocket when you take off it blows out!!

 Re: Gatortail cavitation plate
yours is a little more low profile than mine, not sure if it performs differently than mine but heres a pic....again i just use mine during the off hunting season when im fishing and what not b/c its great in deep water. if your a clear water pirate this would be great for you.
