Sent my spare 12.25x10 big blade prop in to a shop to have some pitch added. They scanned it before and after the work and here are the results. I found it interesting that the stock prop had a significant difference in pitch between the blades. Stock pitch was an average of only 9.244" with a max of 9.561" on one blade and a minimum of 8.766" on the other blade. Pretty big difference.

I had 2" added and the blades evened. It is now a true 11.255" pitch with a deviation of .09%.

Runs very smooth and planes almost instantly even with a load. This is the best part about it. It made a very noticeable difference.

Motor is a 35 cdi with miki, IM heads, and twins. Before average speed was about 27mph at 4250rpm (trimmed down to keep off limiter). New top speed is 31mph (averaging 30mph) putting along at 3950-4000rpm, all deep water speeds. After running through the shallows since they've drawn the river down, I didn't see any real increase in speed.

This is with a tracker mod v 1654.

The prop was sectioned into 1" wide strips and measured. Each bar on the chart represents one of these sections on the left and right blade.

Cost was high, $170 with shipping. They saved the prop file so I can send this one back and they can rebuild it to the same specs in about a week.

Yes, where was that done? Also, looks like quality control on the Big Blade prop is garbage at best. 4 mph is worth $170 in my book. I'll pay that any day.

Sounds like you did better than me. I sent in a 12x14 to Hopkins to get reworked and he said it would be no problem. Got it back and it ran 24 @ 4300 rpms. Need to give him a call, my stock 12x12 runs 31 @ 4300 rpms.

Impossible.

MB has been claiming that their props are balanced perfectly...which is why any and all warranty's are void should the use of any prop other than the one in which they market is used.

Balanced perfectly has nothing to do with pitch on each blade. If u have any clue how a blade is balanced u would know that.
A prop wif a progressive pitch will Chang along the blade, but 10 pitch should still b 10 pitch somewhere.

U can balance a prop that Is worn out, beat to hell, and even missing parts of each blade.
The pitch does not have to be the same. The blades don't have to be identical, as was shown by the prop that this thread is about. A balanced prop is simply a prop that has equally weighted blades. Pitch and cup has nothing to do wif balance, if they did this guys prop would have rattled the engine off the frame brand new, and it did not.
Take a good look at a prop that u have had worked that doesn't have a miiror finish. Look very closely at the back of the blades, u will be looking for sand marks that were left from the prop guy grinding on the back of the blade to cut a small amount of weight from that heavier blade to balance it wif the rest. It isn't very scientific. Wut was done to the Prop in this thread was scientific, r is this how they Lab finish a prop?

Awesome prop information. It's expensive experimenting with props. Thanks for posting this. My motor is still stock except for Hopkins hog exhaust, but I plan on doing heads and carb I would love some more top end speed.
