I have a 24 longtail on a 17 X 40 skiff any of you guys know how to tell the pitch on the prop? I can only turn up 3450 on the tiny tach. Would one size down be able to turn up to 3600? thanks for any help.

What kinda load are you pushing at those RPM's?

Is it the prop that it came with?

What speeds are you getting?

The boat is all 1/8 with a 15 (est) gallon tank in the bow.
With me and ice chest 17 mph. Loaded down for weekend
About 13 mph. Bought motor used with 50 hrs. So I guess
It's original. Was told its a bevertail but it dosent look like one other than
the bearing set-up on the shaft.

Put some pictures of this rig up, you probably won't me able to squeeze 2-3 more mph out of it regardless of what you do.
