Post 3 blade
Anyone running a 3 blade? I was looking into getting one but dont know the upside/down falls about them. Heard the tourque is not as great as the 2, but can you double cup it? Or thats too much strain on the motor. Wanted to get some info of somebody that experienced it first hand.

Ok. I did the search function on this site and nothing too conclusive. The vast majority of 3 bladers have them on shortails. Back in '90, I experimented with my GD 18 HP and a 3 bladed prop. In clean open water it was much faster, that was on a 1436 jon. The problem was when you hit the veggies and it was not weedless and a big knot of "rope" would form really slowing you down and I'd have to jump out and cut it off. Needless to say I went back to the GD SW 2 bladed design and they abandoned that model. I'd like to hear both from shorty owners with 3 bladed props and hopefully some experiments from longtail owners and maybe the new proposed SLT from MB will try out this design.

I don't have experience with the MM 3 bladers but I can comment on this. The problem with mentioned above and the weeds I have found has ta do with horsepower and not only the prop. I ran a 25 hp outboard and couldn't get through nothin. The prop would clog constantly. It also happened with my 15 hp. I'd have ta stop and rip the weeds off. My ole man runs a 40 hp merc on a pure fishin rig. He said he never had problems. He could idle through weeds and get to open water, let er rip and the weeds would fly off. Last year I got me the same 40 hp motor and could do the same thing. I went through some real shit with that motor and if it weren't fer logs I'd still be runnin that outboard. It had enough hp ta cut and throw the weeds right off.

Damn, so I would probably be better off sticking with the 2 then. Might just bring it to the prop shop and put more cup in it. I want something with some more tourque, and maybe some more speed but idk if I can get the best of both worlds by putting more cup. A guy I know that has a 75 enduro with a SUPER double cup 4 blade on a 18' skiff, and ive never seen a outboard go through as much shit as he did. Its awesome to see a outboard go through as much shit as a mud motor, AND hang with them. Crazy.

An outboard with a Lilly keel will go through some shit. If I didn't have any stumps, that's what I'd be runnin.

I am satasifed with the stock prop, just wanted to see if there was other options besides that that would perform better for a few extra $$. Yall can call me 2faced  but Prodrives prop's look pretty badass, like their more aggressive than the GT's. Guess each ones made to perform specifically for each of um' 8-)

Speaking of outboards, have anyone ever heard of someone actually putting a radiator on one with some electric fans? I hear alot of people talking about it but never heard of someone actually doing it.
