Got an old 1972 Johnson 9.5hp outboard. Sat in the garage for 20 years. $89 and a little carb work later, starts on first pull and runs great. 17mph with one person on a 1436, not that speed is really the point;) Any way, the prop is pretty beat up. Looked online and it doesn't seem like it will be hard to find a replacement that will fit, but I'm not sure what would work best regarding pitch and diameter. Not looking to set any speed records;) just looking for a good all around prop. Boat is used for putting around and fishing, me and one other person.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Spence

Is that the Johnson Seahorse?

If so, I have a 1973 model and bought a prop out of the Cabelas Catalogue several years back. Not sure if the sell them still or not. I went from a 3 blade to a 2 blade.

Those are some cool little motors.

Docott, I'm not a doctor or anything, but I'd try a prop shop... :?

No shit? Thanks. None were open last night to answer my question regarding pitch and diameter so I could decide which of the half dozen or so props I've found online that say they are for this motor.

Not sure if it's a seahorse model, but it's still a neat little motor.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself... I guess it is a little rare that something is referenced in your neck of the woods, though.

Quite, no biggie. I'm a big kid and can handle it. There are times I can't help yourself either. 
